Pirate Bay Not Paying Fines

Fredrik Neij, Gottfrid Svartholm Warg, Peter Sunde and Carl Lundström were last week sentenced to one year in prison and to pay $3.6 million in fines, which was split among them. Peter Sunde said in a statement to press that even if he had the money he would not pay the fines.

“We can’t pay and we wouldn’t pay,” said Sunde. “Even if I had the money I would rather burn everything I owned, and I wouldn’t even give them the ashes,” he added.

According to Gizmodo, Sunde has asked users to stop donating money to help them pay the heavy fines.

“We have seen that some people that we don’t know have started collecting donations for us, so we can pay those silly fines. We firmly ask you NOT to do this. Do not gather or send any money. We do not want them since we will not pay any fines!”

Trojan Blocks Access to BitTorrent Sites

A new type of trojan has apparently popped  up at several torrent sites. This trojan blocks access to The Pirate Bay and Mininova and  informs its victims that “downloading is wrong.” It does so by modifying the hosts file on your computer and redirect the BitTorrent sites to localhost, making them impossible to load.

Toolbar users will stay logged on to MySpace constantly, whether they are on the site or not. and the toolbar will automatically log in to MySpace when the browser is opened. The toolbar will stream MySpace data, including notifications, friend activity, and mood and status for themelves and their friends.

The toolbar will first be available for users in the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, India, and Ireland.

Facebook the Movie

Aaron Sorkin, creator of The West Wing, has agreed to make a film about the founders of Facebook.

Sorkin opened a Facebook account to help him understand Facebook because he admitted he did not really understand Facebook, or how he is going to write the movie. He is even relying on fans to help him.

“I have a fairly specific idea of what the first 15 pages of the screenplay will be and no idea what will happen on pages 16 thru 130″ Sorkin wrote.

Temporary E-Mail Address

I have often stumbled upon a site where you will get something for free (like an eBook) if you sign up for a newsletter, which means you have to give up your e-mail address. I would never give up my real e-mail address on something fishy like this but I often get curious if the they are really giving something away for free.

I solve this problem by using a temporary E-Mail address from GuerrillaMail.

GuerillaMail provides you with a disposable e-mail addresses which expires after 1 hour (it says 15 minutes on the front page but when you create an e-mail it says 1 hour).

This is something you should do if you do not wan’t spam!

Chrysler WiFi cars in 2009

chryslerChrysler wants to have internet access in all their cars next year so you can accept friend request on MySpace wherever you are.

Chrysler will unveil the system, which is called UConnect Web, next Thursday and introduce it next year. Therefor Chrysler has overtaken BMW in bringing internet access to cars.

Chrysler is hoping this new gadget will increase their sales, and that’s something that Chrysler needs.

I’m sure not everyone is happy about this project, because it’s not exactly safe to be browsing the internet while driving, but Chrysler will probably do something about that problem, at least I hope so.
